As a general rule , you are allowed to drill* holes in the walls of the apartment, but please note that all holes must be repaired professionally before the next tenant moves in. Therefore, we strongly recommend using adhesive nails and other alternatives wherever possible. Adhesive nails are particularly good for pictures, art, and other small items that you want to hang up.
Adhesive nails do not make holes in the wall. They can be easily removed and reinstalled without damaging the wall.
*Important! Does your home have raw concrete walls, raw concrete ceilings, raw concrete columns, or wooden walls? If so, you must not drill into them.
Which adhesive nails should I choose?
Adhesive nails should be chosen based on the weight of the item you want to hang. Adhesive nails and screws can hold anything from 0.5-10 kg, so it is important to carefully read the instructions on the package before you begin. In addition, you should choose adhesive nails based on the type of wall on which the object will be hung, such as plaster, wallpaper, tiles, or metal.
- For wallpaper and plaster
Adhesive nails for plaster and wallpaper can typically hold up to 2 kg and are available in several varieties. These include adjustable adhesive nails, which can be adjusted a few centimeters up and down after installation. Pretty handy if you need to hang something straight and next to each other. Or if you're the type who tends to measure incorrectly. No problem, just adjust it! - For tiles and metal
In our homes, you are not allowed to drill into tile or metal surfaces. That is why adhesive nails are particularly good in bathrooms, for example. With adhesive nails for tiles and metal, you can hang small bathroom shelves, for example. These can bear a weight of up to 3 kg. - For windows
Please note: You must not hammer nails into or drill holes in window sections. But if you still want to hang Christmas garlands and birthday flags, you can actually get small, transparent adhesive nails and hooks for this purpose. Easy to install and easy to remove—they don't stick or leave holes—and they can also be used on the window itself.
If you need to hang something small and light—weighing no more than 0.5 kg—from the ceiling, we also recommend adhesive nails rather than drilling or screwing in hooks. Adhesive nails with hooks are available, made especially for ceiling hangings.
