As a general rule, you can paint the walls any color you like. The only thing you need to remember is that they must be the same white color when you move out as they were when you moved in. If, during the move-out inspection, it is found that the walls have been repainted in the wrong color—or if the color used can be seen through the new coat of paint—you, as the tenant, may be charged additional fees for proper restoration.
