In Kronen, which is part of UN17 Village, the focus is on both physical and mental health. The homes are developed with a special focus on a healthy indoor climate and choice of materials that support residents' well-being. At the same time, Kronen is part of a village where communities are at the center - because studies show that social communities are of great importance for our mental well-being.

A healthy life inside and out
Kronen is part of UN17 Village - a pioneering project that puts all 17 SDGs into practice. The homes are developed with a focus on climate, health and social community, which are key themes in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Watch the movie and learn more about some of the concrete initiatives we have implemented in the homes.
Kronen focuses on physical and mental health
A healthy life is about living in a place with an optimal indoor climate, fresh air inside and out, plenty of light and good sound insulation. It's also about a home designed to minimize the building's carbon footprint and provide easy access to communities and physical activity. You'll find all this in Kronen, which is part of UN17 Village.

Denmark's best indoor climate
As the first residential building in Denmark, Kronen has achieved the highest level of the international health certification WELL, platinum. But what does it mean for the residents?
This means you can cook without having to worry about harmful particles spreading throughout your home. This is thanks to a glass wall between the kitchen and living room and an extractor hood that starts automatically. It also means you can breathe easy knowing that the air quality is top notch.

Fresh air for body and soul
Kronen ensures fresh air inside and out. The home is built with materials that do not emit harmful gases. Ventilation is optimized and the kitchen is shielded from the rest of the apartment, minimizing the number of food particles in the rest of the home. Outside, you can enjoy the fresh air in the beautiful nature that surrounds the village.

Healthy food in a healthy kitchen
Cooking is great fun. But unfortunately, food also emits many particles that can cause bad air in the rest of your home. In Kronen , we have therefore shielded the kitchen so that food particles cannot spread. On the other hand, we've used glass walls to open up the kitchen so that the light from the rest of your home can "let in".

The hood starts automatically
Cooking emits particles that cause bad air. But in Kronen , those particles have a tough life. The high-efficiency cooker hoods absorb many particles - and the hoods start automatically when you start either the hob or the oven. So without any effort on your part, you get an optimal indoor climate in your home.

Also for allergy sufferersÂ
It's rare that you can write that about a home, but we dare to at Kronen. To reduce the amount of particles and make the air fresher, we have installed high-efficiency pollen filters in the ventilation. Sensors have also been installed that automatically activate the ventilation if the air quality deteriorates to a lower limit.Â

Optimized air quality
New buildings are airtight, making it difficult for moisture and particles to escape. For this reason, we have significantly increased the airflow in Kronen to reduce moisture and improve ventilation in the home. As such a high airflow can dry out the home, we have also installed a moisture-transferring exchanger to ensure that the home does not dry out.Â

Get rid of chemicals and CO2
A CO2 sensor is installed in the ventilation, so when you or your guests emit a certain amount of CO2, the ventilation is automatically activated. We've also installed a VOC sensor that automatically activates the ventilation and captures chemical substances such as nail polish and perfume. All to provide the most optimal indoor climate possible.Â

Tried and tested materials
All materials emit chemical gases, so to achieve the best indoor climate, we have chosen materials that emit fewer harmful gases. All materials are thoroughly tested with a special focus on the materials that you as a resident are in direct contact with: Floorboards, cladding, paint and other elements in the homes.Â
For the eyes, ears and climate
To achieve a good indoor climate, we have also focused on light and sound. Both the light that comes in from outside, but also the artificial light that you can adjust in your home. We have also reduced noise from the technical installations in the home. And we have reduced the building's carbon footprint by using wood in large parts of the construction.

More comfortable light
Light is important for your health, which is why daylight and electric light are optimized in homes. In the kitchen, hallway and bathroom, there are many light installations to give you better and more comfortable light. The light has high color rendering and all lamps are flicker-free so they do not flash and negatively affect your health.Â

You control the light
To make it extra comfortable for you to live in Kronen, you can dim and turn up the lighting throughout the entire home to suit you and your circadian rhythm. If you're someone who appreciates a quiet and calm start to the day, you can also change the color temperature in the bathroom to make the light warmer.

Often, enclosed kitchens are isolated dark spaces where you are cut off from the rest of the home. In Kronen , floor-to-ceiling glass walls keep the particles from the food out from the rest of the home, while allowing light into the kitchen.Â

Kronen is also peace and quiet
In Kronen , you can enjoy the beautiful view of the protected nature area Kalvebod Fælled in peace and quiet. All homes are soundproofed and the noise from the technical installations has been halved compared to the legal requirement. The acoustics in the common rooms are optimized and the planting on roofs and in courtyards also provides optimal acoustics in the outdoor areas.

Nature's own material
The windows go from floor to air, bringing a fantastic amount of light into the bedroom. When you close the curtains, you can enjoy the beautiful exposed wooden pillars with peace of mind, which also adds a unique touch to the room and provides peace and quiet.

Studies show that relationships with other people are crucial to our mental health. UN17 Village, of which Kronen is a part, is designed for communities across generations and family patterns. This could be socializing on the roof terraces or the many squares, social events in the common rooms or swap days in the shared area.

Grow vegetables on the roof
If you want to grow community and enjoy the view of Kalvebod Fælled, the roof terraces at the top of Kronen are the perfect place. Here you can also grow vegetables and plants with other residents and extend the cool summer evenings under the warm roof of the greenhouses.Â

The village hall
In Fælledhuset, the village hall, you and your neighbors can meet for small and large events. The house is decorated with various cozy nooks and rooms. Fælledhuset has access to a large terrace facing the courtyard, and the large windows provide a beautiful view of Kalvebod Fælled.Â
The UN Sustainable Development Goals in practice - with different focus areas
Each property in UN17 Village works with different themes related to the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In Kronen , the focal point is physical and mental health, with a special focus on indoor climate, daylight, fresh air and sound environment.
UN17 Village is among the first residential areas in Denmark where the SDGs are actively incorporated into housing, outdoor spaces and the overall community. The ambition is to create a good environment for more than 1,000 residents - and an environment where togetherness and well-being are key values.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals have been translated into six overarching themes in UN17 Village: community and health, biodiversity, responsible material selection, use of renewable energy, and reduction of water and electricity consumption.
As mentioned above, Kronen has a special focus on elements that support residents' well-being - including optimal indoor climate, good light, efficient ventilation, low carbon footprint and sound comfort. Below you can read more about how the other properties in the village work with their own thematic approach.
Facts about the property
Healthy living makes a positive impact everywhere in Kronen

Food particles are trapped inside
Cooking emits many particles that can cause bad air in the rest of the apartment. In Kronen , we have therefore chosen to shield the kitchen so that food particles cannot spread. On the other hand, we've let the light into the enclosed kitchen, as there are glass walls from floor to ceiling.

Part of the living room
The beautiful glass partition that separates the kitchen from the rest of the living room makes the kitchen feel both like its own room and part of the living room. From the kitchen you can follow what's going on in the living room and from the living room you can follow the cooking. At the same time, the glass section provides a unique opportunity to get as much light around the apartment as possible.Â

Kitchen with care
We believe that the perfect kitchen should be practical, beautiful and designed with the climate and resources in mind. That's why we chose Rotpunkt's Greenline series, which carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and has beautiful doors made from 90% recycled wood. In addition, the mixer tap is of course water-saving and the hood is highly efficient.Â

A warm and calm expression
The Rotpunkt Greenline series not only excels in terms of climate and resources. It has also succeeded in creating a kitchen that stands out from the crowd in terms of design. The unique worktop gives a subdued warm and calm look that goes well with the rustic and modern copper-colored handles.

High-efficiency cooker hoods
Cooking emits particles that cause bad air. But in Kronen , those particles have a tough life. The high-efficiency cooker hoods capture many particles - and the hoods start automatically when you start either the hob or the oven. Optimal air quality
The airflow is significantly increased to reduce humidity and improve ventilation in the home. To reduce particles and freshen the air, we have installed high-efficiency pollen filters and sensors that automatically activate the ventilation if the air quality deteriorates to a lower limit.

It's more like a hallway
Normally you would call it a hallway. But when you look at the size and spaciousness of the hallway in Kronen, the term hall is more appropriate. The spaciousness is also reflected in the large enclosed wardrobes with plenty of space for the family's clothes.Â

Collecting the apartment
The distribution corridor that runs through the apartment naturally connects the rooms, kitchen and living room. At the same time, the corridor also allows for daylight to be spread as much as possible.Â
Beautiful exposed wooden columns
For the sake of the climate, we have used wood in large parts of the construction, as wood emits significantly less CO2 than concrete. This is why you get exposed columns in the living room, which gives a warm, cozy and at the same time raw expression. As wood dominates the home, there are also stricter fire requirements, which the sprinklers in the ceiling are visible proof of.

Views both inside and out
Almost all homes in Kronen have their own balcony where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Kalvebod Fælled and the entire protected area that surrounds UN17 Village. But you don't have to go out on the balcony to enjoy the beautiful view. When you sit in the living room, it almost feels like you're in nature as the windows go from floor to ceiling.Â

Gray is good
Many new buildings have white walls - just in case. This is not the case in Kronen, where we have chosen the color grey, which gives the home a calmer and more exclusive look. At the same time, grey offers endless possibilities in terms of interior design, as it is the perfect match for many other colors.

For dinner in the middle of nature
In Kronen , you don't live close to nature. You live in the middle of nature. This is also how it feels when you sit at the dining table, where the large floor-to-ceiling window provides a unique light and a feeling of being invited out to eat.

For the sake of health
Light is important for your health. That's why the apartments in Kronen have many light installations to provide you with better and more comfortable light. The light has high color rendering and all lamps are flicker-free so they don't flash and negatively affect your health. You can also dim and turn up the light output to suit you and your circadian rhythm.

Room for unexpected guests
In Kronen , all apartments have one or more extra rooms that can be used as a children's room, guest room or office. The rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows to let in daylight, and when darkness falls, you can adjust the lighting to suit your needs, just like in any other room.Â

Community Manager ensures a good framework for community

"This is just home for me"
Christine Støvring, 49, lives in Kronen with her two children Adam and Sarah and her cat Tommy. Throughout her life, Christine has lived in many different places, and she found herself in a situation where she was looking for peace, proximity to nature and, not least, a community with other residents. She feels she has found all that and more at Kronen, located in UN17 Village.
"I like the fact that there is a community here that I can cultivate to the extent that I want to. And my experience is that the residents here really want community," she says.
